22nd September 2023 sees the launch of London’s Newest Live Audience Talk Show to Promote South-Asian Talent
ReelN Ltd teams up with entertainment portal Filme Shilmy to launch a brand new and bespoke live audience talk show, The Filme Shilmy Show, with ROQ Raw Radio as the official Radio Partner and sponsored by State Bank of India UK (SBI) and Nashtaa Cafe. The unique concept will provide an opportunity for South Asian talents – independent and established names – to promote and reflect
on their journeys as storytellers and content creators. The show aspires to bridge the gap between South Asian artistes and UK audiences and hopes to hold more events throughout the year.
The first edition takes place at East London’s Rich Mix at 22nd September. Headlined as “A Spotlight On British-Asian Filmmakers”, the show will have the attendance of three award-winning and acclaimed filmmakers Pravesh Kumar MBE (Little English), Nathalia Syam (Footprints OnWater) and Dr Parvinder Shergill (Kaur). Kumar is Rifco Theatre Company's Artistic Director and Chief Executive.
His first feature Little English, a family dramedy, secured a release with BFI Support had a successful UK run. Shot during COVID-19, the film provided job opportunities to fresh talents and cinema aspirants. Kumar recently completed the successful tour of his play,
Happy Birthday Sunita. Additionally, he is in pre-production and now casting for his new ambitious musical Frankie Goes To Bollywood, which will hit stages in Spring 2024.
